About Carlin Dunne Foundation
Honoring the legacy of Carlin Dunne through innovative concussion treatment and recovery support, while continuing his mission of helping others succeed.
Remembering Carlin Dunne
Son, brother, teammate, friend. Fearless competitor and devoted mentor. Carlin played endless roles, always leading with the same unmistakable charisma, unwavering calm, and signature twinkle in his eye.
The King of the Mountain
Whether racing on blacktop or in Baja, Carlin led with the same fiercely competitive spirit, loving heart, and unwavering dedication. Destined for a life on two wheels, he developed a lifelong obsession with perfecting his craft.
While his list of achievements on two wheels stretches for miles, arguably Carlin's greatest accomplishment during his short time on earth was the positive impact that he had on the lives of everyone he came across.
A Natural Mentor
Renowned for taking fellow riders under his wing, mentorship came second nature to Carlin. Whether showing youngsters the ropes or simply embodying a life lived at full throttle, he had an unmistakable knack for bringing outsiders into the fold.
His passion for racing was truly connected to his passion and care for family and friends. Carlin lived every moment to the absolute max. He was kind, genuine, and so full of life.
A Letter from Daniela
My brother was so full of charisma, openness, with the ability to bring people together and capture attention, what many people don't know is that he was also the best brother, and someone that was so easy to look up to. I always looked to him for guidance, I always looked up to him for his drive, perseverance, pragmatism, and self assuredness, among just about everything else.
Days after his passing the idea of creating something that would be at least as big as he was, something to keep his memory alive, a way for him to continue helping and mentoring people, and selfishly a way for me to still have my big brother around, came to be. In taking a page from his book I hope to help those who are passionate about motorcycles and have the drive to excel, get a leg up in the sport. It is hard enough to win a race, I hope to alleviate some of the other difficulties and complications that these riders face in the form of creating clear pathways and guidelines to success off the race track. Provide the nuggets of wisdom that my brother had to learn the hard way, and help create connections and mentorship opportunities to others coming up. There is room at the top for everyone and we are all better for helping others succeed. Hand in hand with this it is apparent to me, as it was to him, that head injuries plague many riders, in addition to other athletes, and I think that we can also help with these issues we face, concussions and tbi's are no joke, but they are recoverable, we are all at risk, and united it is easier to get through. Through the foundation we can find a way to help everyone plagued with an unfortunate head injury get through it a little easier.
I miss my brother every minute of every day, nothing will change that, but I love hearing from everyone who knew him, I love meeting everyone, his memory is all we have left and it lives in every single person who knew him. Words don't quite capture the appreciation I have for everyone who has been so supportive of me and the foundation, I hope to make him proud, I hope to make everyone proud, and I hope to allow him to continue helping people.
